Inspiration & the thoughts behind the art.
The style is partly inspired by Alan’s various travel to Asia along with his trips to Norway. For example, the beautiful delicate brush lines and depiction from certain masterpieces, that you find around in several Asian countries and combined the more minimalistic style that characteristic Scandinavian style and design. A magnificent mixture of overwhelming nature in an almost fairytale scenario. Last but certainly not least, comes the last potion of inspiration from the artist himself, Alan. A personal but also relatable source of inspiration.
Unexplored Horizon(s) can best be viewed from above. From here you can see further into the distance and what awaits you. The sight intrigues your adventurous being inside of you. Meanwhile, it also reveals the mountains that you have to climb and conquer on the way. You can’t always see how the valleys of your journey will be. Some valleys might be beautiful and some might be a struggle. Some valleys even will be more delightful and appealing, so you want to stay there for a while and others will be like no other place, for good and worse. Nevertheless, always keep your head high - everyone has their own mountains to climb and there will be another outstanding sight on the top.
This mixed media art piece is handcrafted from scratch. Carefully created with acrylic painting and hand-drawn fine lines, where some lines are with texture from several photographs. This contributes to a more authentic depth plus the correct personal style from Alan Pedersen. Elegant hand-drawn shade has been added afterwards along with some watercolour. The background itself is from graphic design and texture.
Everything composed in a digital 70cm x 100 cm format to maintain the colours, depth and sharpness. This lets the art piece keep an authentic appearance, which is impossible to distinguish print from the painting.
The art print is printed on Fine Art Freja paper 265 g to provide the best quality and to emphasise the colours. Every art print is marked with Alan Pedersen – Alantherocks signature.
