Title: Rising Phoenix
-
Thoughts from the artist:
-
"Burn out and rise from your own ashes, stronger and brighter than before. There are many tales of the famous bird, the Phoenix, and several versions of it. Throughout history, the Phoenix has been an inspiration for countless people. It appears in both ancient and modern stories, symbolising the rising from fire, burning brightly, and creating hope for a better future. It also represents the cycle of fading away and being reborn for a new era—rising from where it perished and bringing new life and hope, perhaps even stronger than before.
Many people can relate to this. Sometimes, we must fade away, becoming a shadow of ourselves, an empty shell, until we rediscover that inner spark. Slowly, that spark grows into a flame, eventually bursting into fire, brightening and filling an entire room with our presence. Everyone experiences hard times, some face truly difficult challenges, but as the Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said, 'Nothing is permanent except change.'"

The creation process:
This piece is crafted using water-based acrylic paint, featuring bright, warm neon colours, with detailed lines that enhance its depth and richness. The vibrant hues give it an otherworldly feel, while a spectrum of raw, bold brush strokes contrasts with the fine, delicate strokes that form the Phoenix. You’ll also find small glimpses of reflective cellophane, adding rays of colour to emphasise the Phoenix’s rise. This original painting truly comes to life, evoking a sense of wonder. The striking colour combination adds to its narrative and elegance.
The delicately painted frame is an integral part of the artwork, completing Alan's vision and highlighting its artistic purpose. Therefore, the painting and frame are sold together as a single piece.
