V, Danish Edition by Alpe is a hand-drawn art print built from everything that begins with V. If the name in your house is Viggo, Vera or Villads, this is the letter that already belongs to someone. If it is not, it is still a letter worth learning slowly, because of what Alpe has hidden inside it.
V, Danish Edition by Alpe is a hand-drawn art print by Alan Pedersen, made for his Alpe project for children and families. It gathers animals, magical beings, historical figures and fruits whose Danish names begin with V. The print comes in seven colour editions and three sizes, produced on Fine Art Freja paper at 265g.
A Letter That Already Belongs to Someone
V, Danish Edition works as a personal print because the letter is usually somebody's initial before it is anything else. Alpe starts with a plain question: does your name, or your child's name, start with V. From there the print stops being decoration and becomes a small piece of ownership.
Children recognise their own letter long before they can read it, and a letter they recognise is a letter they will study. That study is where the print does its work. Ask what do you see, or what do you think that is, and the answers keep changing as a child grows. The same open invitation runs through S, Danish Edition by Alpe, drawn in the same hand and made for the same kind of afternoon.

What Hides Inside the Danish V
Inside the letter you will find animals, magical beings, historical figures and fruits whose Danish names begin with V. Look closely and the logic reveals itself. There is a window in the left stroke, a slice of watermelon further down, a bunch of grapes near the top.
In English those three words share nothing at all. In Danish they are vindue, vandmelon and vindruer, and the letter holds them together. That is why this is called the Danish edition. The drawing is built on Danish words, so the discoveries land differently depending on the language spoken in the room. For a Danish-speaking family it is a game with a great many right answers. For everyone else it is a gentle way into the language, one picture at a time.

Seven Colours, and a Tree for Every Print
V, Danish Edition comes in seven colour editions and three sizes, so the same drawing can suit a nursery, a hallway or a quiet corner of a study. The editions are Lyserød Sky, Solskin, Skovbær, Sand, Blåvand, Original and Rosa.
Original keeps the black line on white and shows the detail most clearly. Sand and Skovbær settle into a room without asking for attention. Blåvand and Lyserød Sky bring colour to a wall and still leave it calm. Every print is made on Fine Art Freja paper at 265g, drawn by hand in layers before the colour is added, and carries Alpe's signature. For every print sold, one tree is planted.
A letter is a small thing to give a child. This one arrives with a whole cast of characters already living inside it.
Hang it where the light is good and where somebody small can reach it, and it will keep offering something new to find.
About V, Danish Edition by Alpe
What paper is V, Danish Edition printed on?
Every print is made on Fine Art Freja paper at 265g, a heavyweight fine art stock chosen for depth of colour and fine detail. The letter is drawn by hand from imagination, built up in layers, then coloured with care so the finished print keeps its detail for years.
What sizes are available?
V, Danish Edition comes in three sizes: 30x40cm, 50x70cm and 60x80cm. The smallest suits a nursery or a wall of letters, while the larger sizes carry a room on their own. The frame shown in the product images is not included.
What colour editions can I choose from?
There are seven colour editions: Lyserød Sky, Solskin, Skovbær, Sand, Blåvand, Original and Rosa. The drawing stays the same in each one, so the choice is about the mood you want the letter to bring to the room.
What makes V, Danish Edition special?
It is the Danish edition, so the hidden words are Danish and change from language to language. Each print is hand drawn, carries Alpe's signature as a mark of authenticity, and belongs to the Alpe Danish alphabet made for children and families. For every print sold, one tree is planted.
