Sakura by Alantherock is a cherry blossom photography print from Copenhagen, offered in two editions. Each spring, a short avenue of trees at Bispebjerg Cemetery turns soft and pink, and for a few days the whole city seems to slow down to look. This is the feeling Alan Pedersen set out to hold.
Sakura by Alantherock is a fine art photography print by Alan Pedersen, photographed during cherry blossom season at Bispebjerg Cemetery in Copenhagen, Denmark. It comes in two editions, In The Flower Crowd and Path of Spring, printed on artist-selected fine art paper and available in several sizes.
Where the Photographs Were Taken
Sakura was photographed at Cherry Blossom Avenue in Bispebjerg Cemetery, in the Nordvest district of Copenhagen. For a brief window each spring, the avenue fills with blossom and quiet visitors, a small ritual of looking that the Japanese call hanami. Alan Pedersen returned with his camera to catch the colour at its fullest.
As the artist puts it: Sakura, Cherry Blossom, Hanami. These trees are known by many beloved names. Whatever you call them, Sakura season always signals the arrival of spring. The pink and rose tones carry that arrival into a room long after the petals have fallen.

Two Editions, One Season
Sakura comes in two editions, In The Flower Crowd and Path of Spring, and each stands on its own while quietly completing the other. In The Flower Crowd places you among the blossom, close enough to lose the edges of the branches. Path of Spring steps back to the avenue itself, the way ahead lined with colour.
Hung alone, either edition holds a wall with ease. Hung as a pair, they read as two moments from the same morning, one immersed and one looking forward.

Photography Made to Live on a Wall
Each print is produced from Alan Pedersen's original photographs on fine art paper selected for the work, including a 230G Matt Enhanced paper chosen for photography. The prints are limited edition and arrive with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. Like Imaginary Ocean by Alantherock, Sakura is less about a single subject than about a feeling that outlasts the moment it was taken.
Sakura first arrived on the NOKUKO blog in spring 2024, when the collection was first introduced. It returns each year the way the blossom does, briefly and completely.
Hang it where the morning light reaches, and a little of that pink season stays with you long after the trees outside have gone green.
